The Association is best remembered for their gentle songs and beautiful harmonies. TThey rarely took chances as most of their material was good but predicable.
One of the times they did produce something different was “Requim For The Masses.” It was released as the flip side to their number two hit, “Never My Love.” It was an apocalyptic song that had the feeling of a Catholic Mass. It would spend two weeks on the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Pop Singles Chart at number 100.
The song would be a part of their live act as the building harmonies were impressive. While it is not usually remembered today, it was one of their finer creations.
