Ronny & The Daytonas are one of those mid-sixties groups that were a part of the surf and car era. They are primarily remembered for their big hit, “G.T.O.” They did have a few other singles reach the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Pop Singles Chart.
“Sandy” was their only other single to reach the top forty. Released February 4, 1965, it reached number 27 on the national charts. It was a gentle piece of pop that fit the gentle side of the mid-1960s well.
Ronny & The Daytonas may not have lasted long, but they remain a nice if obscure part of the era.
