Elvis released “Good Luch Charm,” March 17, 1962. It was part of a new direction in his career. He had matured and his stint in the U.S. Army was in the past. His music was now traveling in a pop direction and away from his rock ‘n’ roll sound of the 1950s.
“Good Luck Charm” was a pure, up-tempo, pop romp. It topped the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Pop Singles Chart for two weeks. It was his last number one hit until late 1969.
