Ring Dang Doo 45 by SamThe Sham And The Pharaohs

Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs created one of the ultimate frat-rock songs in music history when “Wolly Bully” became a big hit during the spring of 1965. That hit was the first in a number of novelty type rock songs. It may not have been good for their long-term career but for two years they consistently charted a number of catchy singles.

“Ring Dang Doo” was released during the early fall of 1965 and eventually reached number 33 during its nine weeks on the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Pop Singles Chart. The lyrics were inane but the song stayed in your mind.

Sam The Sham’s career was finished by the end of the decade. They may not have changed rock and roll but they did makec you smile now and then.
