Ju Ju Hand 45 by Sam The Sham And The Pharaohs

Ju Ju Hand

“Wolly Bully” was a frat house classic and “Lil Red Riding Hood” was cute and both reached number two on the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Pop Singles Pop Chart.

Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs carved out a nice niche for themselves during the mid-1960s with their series of goofy but catchy pop/rock songs. “Ju Ju Hand” pushed that concept a little to far as the lyrics were inane. Still, the music was catchy and it received considerable airplay. Released during the summer of 1965, it reached number 26 on the BILLBOARD Chart.

Sam The Sham’s greatest success was also his biggest problem as when the hits ran out, he could not change his sound and so faded from the music scene.

I still don’t have any idea what “Ju Ju Hand” means.
