The Green Door by Jim Lowe

Jim Lowe spent most of his career as a disc jockey and radio personality but for a few years he was a recording star. He placed six singles on the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Hot 100, 1955-1957.

By far his biggest hit was “The Green Door.” It was a catchy ditty with simple lyrics and melody. It topped two of the four BILLBOARD Singles Charts.

Best Sellers In Stores Chart – Reached number two.
Most Played By Disc Jockeys Chart – Reached Number Two.
Most Played In Jukeboxes Chart – 11/17/56 – 3 weeks at number one.
Billboard Hot 100 Chart – 11/3/56 – 3 Weeks at number one.

Bob Davie wrote the song and it is his piano playing that is heard on the recording. Jim Lowe retired at the age of 77 and and is now 85 living in Southampton, New York.
