Roger Greenaway and Roger Cook are best known as producers and songwriters but they also were a part of a number of short-lived bands such as White Plains, The Pipkins, and Blue Mink.
During the mid-1960s they formed the duo of David & Jonathan. They had a light rock/folk fusion sound. There were one hit wonders in the United States.
They did what many artists did during the 1960s; they turned to The Beatles for a song. Their choice was “Michelle,” which they released as a single on The Capital Label during late December, 1965. It peaked at number 18 on the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Hot 100 and was their only chart entry.
