Johnny Crawford’s major claim to fame will always be his time of the televison series, THE RIFLEMAN, when he played Chuck Connors son, Mark McCain during the shows run, 1958-1963.
Like many young televison stars of the time, he began recording music. He had eight singles reach the BILLBOARD MAGAZINE Hot 100, 1961-1964, with three making the top 20.
“Your Nose Is Gonna Grow/Mr. Blue” was issued during the summer of 1962 and finlly peaked at number 14. I have always favored Mr. Blue. which was the B side of the single. It was light weight, pre-Beatles pop that may not have had a lasting impact upon American music but was a pleasant listen at the time.
As with many televion stars, when the series ended, so did his commercial success in the music industry.
