Paul Anka, born 1941, has seen his career pass the half cnetury mark and shows no sign of slowing down. The most commercially successful part of his career occurred 1957-1983, when he placed 53 singles on the BILLBOARD Hot 100.
His first chart single was named after his baby sitter. “Diana” would prove to be one of his biggest hits. It reached number two on the Most Played By Disc Jockeys Chart and BILLBOARD Top 100. However on September 9, 1957, it topped the Best Sellers In Store Chart, giving him his first number one song.
Tt may have only spent one week at the top of the charts in the United States but in England it became one of the biggest number one hits of all time as it topped the singles chart for nine weeks.
